Hamish Ogston Community Fund
Thanks to a generous donation from CPP's founder and non-executive chairman, Hamish Ogston, over 20 charities and community groups in North Yorkshire, Tamworth and Chesterfield have benefited from a grant. For details of all recently awarded grants please click here.

Catalyst Fund
In the last year this fund has helped many small projects across our region, that improve community facilities or support people with disabilities. From Scarborough, to Stokesley, to Sutton in Craven we have helped train volunteers in a community office, provided a lunch club for people with disabilities and provided facilities for a drop in centre for young people.

Snappy

CPP Community Fund
Supporting small community groups in York, North Yorkshire, Tamworth and Chesterfield, the CPP Community fund has benefited a variety of projects this year. It has helped Snappy in York run a photography project for children with special needs and provided funding towards a new mower for Oxcroft Miners Welfare Bowling Club in Chesterfield.

Comic Relief
There are still many communities in the UK that suffer from economic and social deprivation and the current economic climate may make this situation worse. This programme aims to empower local people enabling them to create lasting change in their communities. From a project providing social activities in a deprived area of York to a 'walking for health' project in Richmondshire, the latest Comic Relief grants are helping local people make a difference in York and North Yorkshire.

York Community Pride
Now in it's 5th year York Community Pride continues to support local groups who want to improve their environment. From small projects such as bulb planting in outlying villages, to removing gaffiti and rubbish at St Nicholas Fields nature reserve in central York, and larger projects like the pond dipping platform at Moorlands Nature Reserve, York Pride helps local people make a difference to their local area.

African Cultural Awareness sessions

 Community Champions
This fund has now closed. During 2007/08 Community Champions funded an imaginative range of projects initiated by individuals to benefit their communities. In York the Bike Rescue Project involves disadvantaged young people in the restoration and recycling of abandoned bikes. In Ryedale a project has been set up to purchase a trailer for the use of community groups for their events and functions.
