High Sheriff's Dinner

At the end of his busy year as High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, Philip Ingham, hosted a dinner at York Rececourse in support of York & North Yorkshire Community Foundation. The event was attended by the Lord Mayor of York, Irene Waudby, Dean of York, The Very Reverend Keith Jones, guest speaker GP Taylor and some of the many supporters of the Foundation.

During an entertaining and thought provoking speech the Yorkshire vicar turned best selling author called on the Government to stop neglecting rural children. " They are, on the whole, a forgotten generation, left to fend for themselves with few facilities and amenities. " With the same issues of drink, driugs and bullying facing children in rural communities as their peers in cities he highlighted the lack of support and funding for rural projects. GP Taylor went on to praise the work of the York & North Yorkshire Community Foundation in supporting so many worthwhile projects across the region.

The High Sheriff, Philip Ingham with guest speaker, GP Taylor, Chair of the Community Foundation, David Harbourne, and Director of the Community Foundation, Stephen Beyer.
