Catalyst Fund

The Catalyst Fund offers people, with a strong commitment to York and North Yorkshire, the opportunity to join with others to establish a long term plan to fund community projects in the region. The fund operates through individuals subscribing to 'shares' in the fund. Every pound donated by shareholders is used to directly benefit local good causes, in accordance with priorities determined by shareholders themselves.

This year shareholders voted to support projects with the following themes:

• Community facilities
• Youth projects
• Projects for people with disabilities

Shareholders are also invited to exclusive social events and have regular opportunities to meet the groups who have benefited from Catalyst Fund grants.

We are also able to benefit from the Giftaid Scheme, whereby for every pound donated by UK taxpayers, the Foundation can claim an extra 28p tax back from the government. This will be used to fund associated and core costs and an endowment fund to secure the long term future of the Catalyst Fund.
